Cycling tourism in Getxo – a sustainable way to explore the area
Take your time enjoying every pedal, that’s cycling tourism in Getxo – a town on the Basque Coast with idyllic bike paths that will lead you through the different neighbourhoods. You can cycle along the Zugazarte promenade past the most important manor houses of Monumental Getxo, from the Old Algorta Port to the more urban commercial area of Las Arenas. Here you will find the iconic Bizkaia Bridge, one of the most important constructions of the industrial era in Euskadi.
More adventurous tourists can cycle along the La Galea path, following the coastline to Gorrondatxe - Azkorri Beach and taking in the views over the Bay of Biscay from the cliffs. With Getxo’s bike rental services, you are sure to enjoy a true cycling adventure.
Feel free to contact the Getxo Tourist Office, where the staff will help you plan the best cycling route and give you information about (restaurants or pintxo bars) where you can stop to eat, or where to find accommodation on your route if you are staying for more than a day.
