This literary route is a walking tour of the real Getxo from VERDES VALLES (Arrigunaga, Andra Mari, la Venta, la Galea, the cemetery, Venancios, ...) based on which Ramiro Pinilla has created myths, legends, characters and stories that this route will reveal to you: San Baskardo, Sugarkea, the Marquis and his wife, Ella, Don Manuel, Asier, Roque, the Mostrador de la Venta...
The VERDES VALLES, COLINAS ROJAS trilogy by Ramiro Pinilla obtained the Euskadi Critics and National awards in 2005 (La tierra convulsa) and the National Literature award in 2006 (Las cenizas del hierro) and it also attained the Nadal Prize and was the Planeta Prize finalist.
Ramiro Pinilla had an unstoppable passion for writing, a passion he wished to pass on by creating literary initiatives such as the GALEA magazine (1982-2000), the LITERARY WORKSHOP in Algorta (1978) and the LIBROPUEBLO/HERRILIBURU publishing house (1978-1986). The workshop still remains active.
The routes are organised to commemorate specific dates in Ramiro Pinilla’s life as well as for literature in general:
