If the Estuary could speak, it would tell you how, almost a thousand years ago, fishermen used to arrive every day at a little settlement located where Santurtzi stands today. It would also recount how two centuries ago, vessels would crash into each other because they all wanted to cross the area between Santurtzi and Getxo at high tide, all for the same reason: To get in or out before the tide went out and they were left aground on the terrifying sandbank…
As the estuary can’t speak, it will be us who tell you the most important landmarks in this marvellous location, the Estuary history, as well as the main points of interest we shall be coming across along the route. The audio guide system in different languages and the slideshow monitor with slides of old images will help you see the transformation of the environment of the estuary during this fascinating journey.

The tour includes a stop at the new Portugalete jetty to visit the Bizkaia Bridge, a World Heritage Site and one of the most emblematic constructions of the European Industrial Revolution. Climb its panoramic footbridge and contemplate the estuary and the coast from the heights.
