Enjoy a sailing tour around El Abra, the historic harbour of Bizkaia and Bilbao's gateway to the sea. A cultural sailing experience in Getxo designed to reveal the coastal landscape from the deck of a yacht, moving to the rhythm of the wind and the Cantabrian Sea.
During the sail, El Abra reveals itself as the maritime gateway to Bilbao, defined by port history, seafaring and transatlantic trade. Beaches, breakwaters and coastal transformations take on new meaning when viewed from the sea, brought to life through the stories of sailors, fishermen and pilots who have known these waters for generations.
From the sailing boat, the Old Port of Getxo appears the same as always: a haven for sailors, bound to artisanal fishing, storms and daily life on the coast. The journey continues towards the Getxo Flysch, where rock formations and cliffs reveal the power of the geological landscape and its historical importance as a navigational landmark.
The experience culminates at sunset, when the light transforms the sea and the cliffs of La Galea take on golden hues, with the silhouettes of the Fort and the Aixerrota Mill set against the horizon.
