Getxo International Jazz Festival opens the jazz season in Euskadi

July is synonymous with jazz in Getxo. From 1 to 5 July 2026, the Getxo International Jazz Festival will celebrate its 49th edition, once again kicking off the prestigious Jazz Euskadi circuit and cementing its status as one of the must-attend events for jazz enthusiasts.

Just a year before the festival celebrates its 50th anniversary, Getxo Jazz presents a programme that brings together leading international figures, established artists, fresh perspectives on contemporary jazz and young European talent through the traditional Band Competition.

Over the course of five days, the festival will fill Getxo with music, featuring concerts in Muxikebarri, free street performances, family-friendly shows and initiatives designed to bring jazz to a wider audience.

Iconic names in international jazz

The 2026 programme will bring together some of the biggest names in international jazz, from established figures like Charles Lloyd to leading artists on the contemporary scene such as Camille Thurman. It will also feature performances like Sketches of Latin Miles, a Latin jazz reinterpretation of the work of Miles Davis, and will include a performance by Immanuel Wilkins, a leading figure of the new generation of American jazz.

Alongside the season ticket concerts, Getxo Jazz remains committed to bringing music to the people through the Tercer Milenio section, a programme of free events taking place on the streets of Getxo. And, as every year, the festival also aims to bring jazz closer to children and families through free events designed for everyone to be able to enjoy music together as a family.

Getxo Jazz 2026 Programme

The headline concerts will take place at 9.00 pm, bringing together leading figures from the international jazz scene, ranging from legendary figures to the new generation who are redefining the genre. An €80 season ticket is also available to attend all ticketed performances.
