Tasting of basque artisan beers
Discover the wonderful world of Basque craft beers with a tasting that is a fun learning experience.
You will try five different types of Basque craft beer, and will be given explanations of the beer brewing process in general and the peculiarities and features of each type.
Characteristics of craft beers
The main difference between craft and industrial beers is that the former are made solely from natural ingredients (without additives or preservatives) and are not pasteurised. They contain only malt, hops, yeast and water.
Apart from this basic difference, craft beers also have the following characteristics:
- They are made with locally-sourced products and preserve the original essence of brewing.
- Each brewer uses their own, manual methods throughout most of the process.
- This introduces a human factor that gives each beer its own taste and aroma, making each one a unique experience on the palate.
The tasting is accompanied by Basque finger-food selected specifically to combine well with the beers.
